Volunteer Opportunities
The Bristlecone Chapter Needs YOU!
We are an all-volunteer board, and as such, are always in need of volunteers to step up and help keep our chapter running. Here are some things you could help with:
- Volunteer to help with a specific event
- Volunteer for an ad hoc (temporary/project) committee
- Volunteer to lead or assist on a field trip (or several!)
- Volunteer to be a smiling face at a Bristlecone chapter table at events - past events where we've had a table (when there was someone who could staff the table) are, Alabama Hills Day, Banff Mountain Film Festival, Earth Day, and others.
- Volunteer to help with putting on the Spring Sojourn - we need all kinds of help with making this wonderful event happen, and in past years, we just haven't done it because of lack of volunteers. For 2015, we decided to ONLY have a Sojourn if we get enough volunteers to help by the November 2014 public meeting.
- Volunteer to be on the board - either as a "member-at-large" or for a specific position. Currently, our Secretary has already served 4 years, our Treasurer is on year 3, and we have had a few board members "retire" for various reasons.
- Write a newsletter article or send in a photo - field trip reports are great to include!
